Washington Premier Men’s U23 Team Capture Title
The WPFC U23 Men’s team, coached by Roy Lassiter defeated the Seattle Stars by a score of 5-1 to claim the EPLWA Championship. It was a high energy atmosphere with over 500 spectators. WPFC youth players participated in international walkout with both teams and referees. The Boys 05 & 06 DA participated as ball shaggers for match. The youth players also participated in the trophy presentation after the match. The U23 men’s team roster has 16 current or alumni players with ties to Washington Premier FC.
Brandon Madsen (St. Martins University) had a hat trick and an assist and was named MVP for the match. Madsen scored 16 goals on the season. The team finished the regular season with a 9-1-0 record, with their only regular season loss coming against Seattle. In the playoffs, the team defeated Bellingham in the semis by a score of 3-2 and wrapped up the championship tonight. The team had an overall record of 11-1-0 and scored 38 goals in 12 matches and allowed 16 goals.
