WPFC B00 and B02 Black Teams Have Great Run

Washington Premier’s B00 and B02 Black teams were the only two teams representing the state of Washington in the US Youth Soccer National Championships. Despite the hot temperatures, both teams were prepared and had a strong showing for both the club and the state.
The B00 Black team coached by Kevin Skinner, with wins on days 1 and 2 secured a spot in the semi finals at the end of day 2 competition. They would go on to win game three of pool play by beating Baltimore Bays by a score of 5-1. The B00 Blacks won their bracket with 3-0 record and a goal differential of 8. In semi-finals, the team faced defending National Champions Baltimore Celtic. The team was down 1-0 at half and gave up a late second half goal falling to the defending champs 2-0. The Baltimore Celtic team would go on to defend their title by beating Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club by a score of 3-0.
The B02 Black coached by Jason Prenovost had an exciting journey that came down to the wire day three of pool play. With an opening tie on Day 1 against Tuzos Academy followed by a loss on Day 2 against Solar 02 Stricker, the team had to dig out a win on day 3 and needed some help from Solar. The 02 went up 1-0 on Day 3 against Club Ohio Green and Tuzos Academy fell to Solar by a score of 4-0. The 02s advanced to Semi final where they faced NCFC Elite. Elite put the first goal in the net and game ended in a 1-0 final.
