History
The ECNL (Elite Clubs National League) was founded in 2009 by a group of Directors of Coaching across the country who saw a need for change in the development of the female youth soccer player. The ECNL set out to improve the following three areas; 1) The competition through the development of a true National League, 2) process for identifying individual talent for national team consideration 3) evaluate the training environment and identify the “best practices” to enhance the training experience and share this with member clubs. Washington Premier was accepted into the ECNL in 2010 and like the ECNL, WPFC remains committed to improving the daily environment for the elite female youth soccer player.
Since the graduating class of 2013, 92% of Washington Premier ECNL players committed to play college soccer. Of the 92%, 56 % committed to Division 1 universities, 27% to Division 2 and 9% to Division 3 schools.
